MOUNTAIN MINT

pycnanthemum virginianum

Mountain mint is a native plant that is very popular among the insect and butterfly community. This densely-flowered plant has a very long bloom time, blooming for two months or so, while giving off a strong, minty aroma. Butterflies, pollinating bees, and small beetles, which are all very beneficial to the plant itself, all are attracted to this plant due to its supply of flowers and long bloom time, making this plant a beneficial addition to our gardens.
